Update · September 2026

Corlova is free right now. Here is the whole story.

On September 1, 2026, Corlova became free. Not a trial, not a preview tier: a free account opens the entire library, in full, with no card asked for and no clock running.

This is the long version of that change: what opened, what you can do without an account at all, the one thing still for sale, where ads appear, and why we did it. Then the part we are least certain about: whether it stays this way.

What changed on September 1, 2026

A free account now opens everything: 1065+ lessons across 29 categories, 90+ calculators, 14 business simulators, 85+ case studies, 170+ business models, 50+ research briefings, 2170+ glossary terms, and 29 guided learning paths.

There are no daily caps on an account, no trial clock, and no card asked for at signup. Creating the account is the whole step, and what it opens is the same library in full, not a teaser version of it.

What you can do without an account

More than you might expect. Chapter 1 of every lesson is open to anyone, at every difficulty. So is the first part of every research briefing and case study, the Overview tab of every business model, the full catalog, the glossary's core terms, and the quick quiz, which shows you your score at the end. You can also play one full year of a simulator. How it ended opens once you have the account.

Calculators open with a free account, and so do the rest of the simulators and everything past chapter 1. That is the whole line between reading as a guest and reading with an account.

The one thing for sale

The Ad-Free Pass. It costs $9.99, once. Nothing recurs, and it removes ads from that account permanently.

Nobody needs it. It changes nothing about what you can read, run, or finish, only whether ads appear while you do.

About ads, plainly

There may be none showing today. If and when ads run, they appear only for visitors and free accounts, and only in a few places: on browse and library pages, and, since September 2, 2026, on lesson pages. On a lesson there is at most one unit per chapter, placed after the chapter text, never inside it.

They never appear on your own account pages. They never appear at all for Ad-Free Pass owners, members, or organization and school accounts, anywhere on the site.

Ads are non-personalized unless you opt in, and the switch for that is on the Your privacy choices page. Left alone, it stays off.

Why

Because more people should be able to learn how business actually works without a paywall in the way. Because a library gets better with more readers telling us what is unclear. And because ads are what let it stay free for now. That is the trade, and we would rather name it than dress it up.

What is not changing

Every lesson still cites its sources. There are still no video lessons. Nothing renews, because there is no subscription. All of it is educational, not financial, legal, or tax advice, and nobody is promised an income.

The honest part

This may not be permanent. We may introduce paid plans later, or keep everything free. We are genuinely undecided, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing.

What we can promise: anything you have bought is never affected. An Ad-Free Pass stays ad-free forever, and earlier lifetime purchases stay unlocked forever. Any change is announced plainly and in advance: no countdown timers, and no surprise walls on work you have already started.

What to do now

Create a free account, browse the catalog, or take the quick quiz and see where you stand. Any of the three is a fine first step, and none of them commits you to anything. The links below go to each.

Key takeaways

  • A free account opens the entire library: no daily caps, no trial clock, no card.
  • Without an account: chapter 1 of every lesson, the first part of every briefing and case study, every model's Overview tab, the catalog, the core glossary terms, the quick quiz, and one year of a simulator (its ending opens with the account).
  • The only thing for sale is the $9.99 Ad-Free Pass: once, nothing recurring, and nobody needs it.
  • Ads, if they run, appear only for visitors and free accounts, never on account pages, and never for pass owners, members, or organizations.
  • Whether this lasts is undecided. Whatever happens, anything you have bought is never affected, and any change is announced in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a card?

No. Creating a free account asks for no card and no payment details, because there is nothing to charge. The only purchase on the site is the optional $9.99 Ad-Free Pass, and you never need it.

Is this a trial?

No. There is no trial clock and no daily cap on an account. A free account opens the whole library for as long as Corlova is free. If that ever changes, we will say so plainly and in advance, not by letting a timer run out.

What happens to my progress if pricing returns?

Anything you have bought is never affected: an Ad-Free Pass stays ad-free forever, and earlier lifetime purchases stay unlocked forever. Any change would be announced plainly and in advance, and there will be no surprise walls on work you have already started.

Where exactly do ads appear?

Only for visitors and free accounts: on browse and library pages, and since September 2, 2026 on lesson pages, at most one unit per chapter, after the chapter text, never inside it. Never on your own account pages, and never for Ad-Free Pass owners, members, or organization accounts. The transparency post in this section walks through every placement.
