How lessons work: chapters, routes, tappable terms, and read-aloud
Every lesson is readable chapters with a route picker: take the quick version, the full deep dive, or something in between, and listen instead of reading if you like.
Chapters, not videos
A Corlova lesson is a set of short readable chapters, never a video to sit through. Chapters follow a common shape: the core idea, how it works, why it matters, common mistakes, then things like a case study, a knowledge check, and a summary. Along the way you hit live calculators, decision scenarios, and matching exercises instead of walls of text.
Chapter counts vary by lesson on purpose. Where a chapter would have been thin, it was cut rather than padded, and some lessons earn an extra interactive Decision Scenario chapter. The chapter list on the lesson page shows exactly what that lesson has.
Pick a route before you start
The lesson overview asks you to choose a route: a subset of chapters matched to how much time you have. Quick Understanding is the core idea, the mechanics, and the summary in a few minutes. Practical Application adds the mistakes, the decision scenario, and the apply-it-yourself chapter. Full Deep Dive is every chapter. Lessons with history, current-landscape, or future chapters also offer themed routes built around those.
Each route card shows its chapter count and estimated minutes, so the choice is informed. Routes are not commitments: chapters you complete stay completed no matter which route you switch to later, and you can always come back for the rest.
Tap any term you do not know
Unfamiliar terms inside lesson text render with a dotted underline. Hover on desktop or tap on a phone and a small card shows the short definition, plus the formula when the term has one, without leaving your place. An Open in glossary link on the card jumps to the full entry if you want more.
This is the whole glossary wired into the reading experience: a word you do not know is never more than a tap away from its definition.
Listen instead of reading
Every chapter has a listen button in the reader toolbar. It reads the chapter aloud using your device's built-in voices, so voice quality depends on your device, with a small player for pause, resume, and reading speed from 0.8x up to 1.5x. Tap any word in the chapter and playback jumps straight there.
Read-aloud is built for walks and commutes. If your browser does not support speech, the button simply does not appear.
How your progress is counted
Finishing a chapter and pressing the button to move on marks it complete. The chapter list shows a check, and the lesson remembers your spot so Resume drops you back where you left off. Reading to the end of a chapter and then jumping elsewhere in the list marks it too, so nothing is lost by navigating with the chapter rail.
Each numbered circle in that list is also a switch: press it to tick a chapter yourself, or press it again to untick one. The last chapter offers Mark lesson complete for every chapter of the route at once.
